Overview

Borderlines Film Festival is a long-running rural film festival presenting international and British cinema across Herefordshire, Shropshire, Malvern and the Welsh Borders. Screenings take place in arts centres, independent cinemas, market towns and village halls throughout the region.

The festival runs for over two weeks and presents close to 300 screenings, spanning new releases, independent productions, documentary and selected classic titles. Working with local cinemas and the Flicks in the Sticks rural film network, Borderlines brings films that might otherwise only screen in major cities to audiences across smaller towns and rural communities.

Location

Borderlines Film Festival is a multi-venue film festival with screenings and events hosted across a network of cinemas and community venues in the region.

Use the festival’s official Venues page to find the full venue list. Each venue page includes its own directions, parking guidance, accessibility notes, and local ticketing details.

You can also explore the spread of venues across Herefordshire, Shropshire, Malvern and the Welsh Borders using the festival’s dedicated interactive Google map, which provides an overview of participating cinemas and community venues.

The map embed on this page uses The Courtyard (Edgar Street, Hereford, HR4 9JR) as a reference point rather than a single festival site.

Accommodation

Borderlines Film Festival is not a camping festival. You will need to arrange your own accommodation in or near your chosen screening location.

As screenings take place across Herefordshire, Shropshire, Malvern, and the Welsh Borders, accommodation options vary by town and venue. Visit Visit Herefordshire for regional listings, including hotels, guesthouses, and rural stays.
