Overview
Reading Festival, a cornerstone in the UK's music scene, evolving from its early 1960s roots into one of the country’s best-known live music events. Moving to its current home at Richfield Avenue in 1971, it has hosted landmark performances from artists such as Nirvana, Pink Floyd and Eminem. Today it presents an eclectic mix of rock, indie, hip hop and electronic music across multiple stages, attracting audiences from across the world. The festival is also recognised for its environmental initiatives and ongoing efforts to improve accessibility and site sustainability. Festival Capacity: ≈ 100,000–105,000
Public reports and festival-site listings for recent years suggest a capacity between circa 90,000 and 105,000. Official licence limits are not consistently published, and capacity may vary due to layout, camping and access constraints.

Tickets
Basic Price Range: £150 - £325
This price range aims to give a rough idea of the lowest and highest prices typically available, including child and day tickets where relevant. Always check the official ticket page for current pricing.
Most festivals release tickets in phases: Early Bird, General Release, and Final Release. Generally, tickets are more expensive the closer it is to the festival start date.

Age Restrictions
Reading Festival is open to all ages, however, it is advised not to bring young children. Attendees under 16 must be accompanied by an adult over 18 at all times. Valid, original ID (not a photocopy) is required for entry.
