Overview

The Big Retreat Festival is a four-day wellbeing and adventure festival overlooking the Cleddau Estuary in Pembrokeshire. Its programme combines live music and comedy with yoga, fitness, meditation, wild swimming, paddleboarding, talks, cookery, bushcraft and creative workshops.

More than 300 experiences are spread across themed areas, allowing visitors to build their own schedule around active sessions, quieter wellbeing activities, food and evening entertainment. The programme is designed primarily for adults while also welcoming families, with dedicated children's activities and family camping. Festival admission, camping and parking are booked separately.

Location

The Big Retreat Festival takes place at The Big Retreat Wales, Lawrenny, Pembrokeshire, Wales, SA68 0PW. The festival occupies the former Lawrenny Castle site overlooking the Cleddau Estuary, within Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Its outdoor grounds include open grassland, camping areas and access to waterside activities.

Travel Info

Narberth and Kilgetty are the nearest railway stations, each requiring an onward taxi that should be booked ahead. National Express services also stop at Kilgetty. Important Ticket Information

Only purchase tickets through the festival's official website. Tixel is the only resale platform identified in the festival's terms. Camping and parking are booked separately, and admission to individual activities is subject to available space. Check the official ticket information and terms before booking.

Accommodation

Camping is available at the festival but must be added separately when booking admission. Visitors can also stay off site and travel to the festival each day.

Basic Campsite Regulations:

  • Fires, fire pits and barbecues are not permitted.
  • Gas camping stoves are permitted subject to the published campsite rules.
  • Generators, glass containers and drones are not permitted.
  • Pets are not permitted; registered guide and assistance dogs are exempt.

Accessibility

The festival provides accessible parking along a hardstanding road and an accessible campsite close to the main festival area. The camping area is grassy but firm, lies near a hardstanding route and has an accessible toilet and water point nearby. Some other parts of the outdoor site may be uneven or difficult to access.

Eligible adults can apply for a free Personal Assistant Ticket, and registered guide and assistance dogs are permitted. Visit the festival's FAQ page for current eligibility information and contact the organisers in advance to arrange accessible parking, camping or other support.
