Festival Information

Overview
Supersonic is a long-running independent music and culture festival rooted in Birmingham, known for bringing together adventurous sound, critical discussion, and a strong sense of community. Since its beginnings in the early 2000s, the festival has built a reputation for thoughtful programming and an audience that values openness, curiosity, and shared experience.
For 2026, Supersonic takes place across two days in a single venue, offering a more concentrated version of the festival while retaining its core focus on music, ideas, and connection. The programme combines live and electronic performances with talks and workshops, creating space for both intense listening and meaningful exchange.
Rather than chasing scale, Supersonic prioritises care, detail, and participation. It attracts audiences who are interested in discovery, who enjoy spending time with challenging or unexpected work, and who value the feeling of being part of a welcoming and engaged crowd.
