Overview
Isle of Wight Festival is a large, all-ages music and camping festival held at Seaclose Park in Newport. Its multi-stage programme spans rock, pop, indie and electronic music, bringing established headline performers together with emerging artists. The wider site includes smaller music areas, family activities, food and drink, a funfair and a riverside campsite.
First held in 1968, the festival's original three-event run culminated in the celebrated 1970 gathering. It returned in 2002 after a 32-year break and has since regained a prominent place in the UK summer festival calendar. The ferry journey and island setting remain a distinctive part of attending.

The main festival arena is at Seaclose Park in Newport, with the campsite and additional festival areas extending into the adjoining fields beside the River Medina.
Reaching the island requires a ferry or hovercraft crossing. Festival shuttle buses connect the main ferry ports and island towns with the site, while coach packages include the mainland journey and ferry transfer. Check the festival's official travel page before booking transport.

Important Ticket Information
Only purchase tickets through official sellers linked by the festival and check the current ticket terms before booking. The festival welcomes all ages: visitors aged 13-15 must attend with an adult aged 18 or over, while those aged 16-17 can attend without an accompanying adult but may need to provide proof of age.
Accommodation
General camping in the festival's riverside campsite is included with weekend admission. Visitors can choose standard camping or register or book separately for quieter, family, upgraded and pre-pitched camping areas.
