Overview

Stealing Thunder Storytelling Festival, set in the picturesque Lake District, features renowned storytellers from the UK and Scandinavia, offering a diverse program of fairytales for adults, myths for children, live music, and workshops. The 2025 edition embraces the theme of Scandinavian Midsummer, attendees can enjoy midsummer celebrations, storywalks, and late-night DJ sessions. While the main program caters to adults, family-friendly activities ensure entertainment for all ages. The festival provides a unique blend of storytelling, music, and nature, creating an immersive experience in a beautiful green valley near Lake Windermere.

Accommodation

Stealing Thunder Festival  is a camping festival, please bring your own equipment. Don't forget your wellies and wet weather clothing!

Campsite Options:

  • Available from 1pm on Friday until Monday morning
  • Limited space for tents and vans
  • Facilities include:
    • Showers
    • Portable toilets
    • Drinking water
  • Campsite is less than 5 minutes walk from the main festival site
  • Space for campervans (no hook-up available)
  • Note: Large mobile homes or vehicles with caravans may have difficulty accessing the site

Dog Policy

  • Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome on the campsite and festival grounds
  • Dogs are not allowed inside the tents
  • Must be kept on a lead at all times due to nearby livestock

Companion Tickets

Stealing Thunder Festival offers Companion Tickets for attendees who require assistance. These tickets are available free of charge, with or without camping, but must be purchased alongside a full-price ticket. To validate a companion ticket, proof of the carer's role should be emailed in advance to admin@stealingthunder.co.uk.
